My “Original” Front Porch Family

One chilly November day, I was inside my neighbors house capturing their newest addition, baby Clark. We took photos of everyone in their adorable hats using the natural light setting quickly outside. Once we were finished with our session inside, I suggested we head outside on their front step for one final image. Ta Da! My first front porch photo! This adorable photograph was taken almost 5 years ago this fall!

We were so in love with this photo. Every year since then we have made sure to take a photo on their front step at the beginning of our session. It has been so much fun to watch the growth, changes and of course adorable matching outfits every year!

I am so fortunate to be able to photograph this family every year! Hopefully we will keep documenting their ever growing and changing family for many more years to come.

Even though we only have a little front step and don’t spend too much time on it, I make sure to take a few photos of my kids on when we get the chance.

Your home is a place where so many childhood memories are formed. It’s your safe place to return to after a long day at school. It’s where slumber parties and backyard birthdays take place. Where siblings form so many childhood memories.

When photographing families, I love places with nostalgia. Your home and neighborhood would be the top of that list.

There are a lot of perks to taking photos at home. No travel time, anything you need is just inside, easy bathroom breaks, and everyone seems a little more at ease and comfortable.
